Product Description
The Shortscale Bass is similar to a traditional Orff-Schulwerk bass xylophone, but with the range of one octave only. An instrument with fiberglass bars is an especially good choice for humid climates, since the fiberglass bars are not affected by temperature or humidity changes. This instrument is the same range as the first eight notes of a typical Orff style bass xylophone and covers most of the basic requirements for early music education. The resonator box is made entirely of wood to ensure true resonance and clarity of sound, and features holes to store your mallets when not in use. Dimensions of the resonator box are approximately 22.75" long x 10.25" high x 11" wide at the widest point, and 8.5" wide at the narrowest point. With the bars on, the widest point is approximately 15.75" (the length of the low C bar).
